ReSeeD User Guide (CRC1280-specific)

Terms

The following terms are used in this user guide.

Adding a new experiment

(Please note that the person who actually saves the new work (dataset) is legally the "depositor" under the Terms of Use)

From your User Dashboard, click "Collections" in the grey sidebar on the left, then "Managed Collections" in the tabs icon the right, then click on "CRC1280 Extinction Learning" in the list. You will then see the collection page for "CRC1280 Extinction Learning", including a list of the available "Groups". Click on your group and you will see the main page of your group in ReSeeD, where all the experiments in your group are listed. On the right-hand side of the page you will see a row of blue buttons, including one labelled "ADD NEW EXPERIMENT". Click on this button.

Fill in the form, making sure you complete the required fields (marked with a blue label: "Required"). On the right-hand side you will see the button "Save dataset (work)". Please note that the visibility "Private" is preselected and cannot be changed when creating the experiment. The visibility - which can be either private or public is automatically set by the system depending on the status (draft, published or archived) of the work.

Read and check the button for "I have read and agree to the Deposit Agreement". Click the "Files" tab to add folder or files from your PC. Click the black button: "ADD FOLDER" or ADD FILES" and select files from your PC.

Finally, click the blue button: "SAVE". A view of the new experiment is displayed, with a green notification message saying; "Your files are being processed by ReSeeD in the background. The metadata and access controls you specified are being applied. You may need to refresh this page to see these updates."

A note on ORCIDs

When adding an ORCID identifier for a Creator or Contributor, you must use the full, web form of the ORCID, which looks like this:

Add a new subject to an experiment

Navigate to your experiment. The experiment view is shown, including a button labelled "ADD NEW SUBJECT". Click this button.

Fill in the form (all fields). Click the "Files" tab to add folder or files from your PC. Click the black button: "ADD FOLDER" or ADD FILES" and select files from your PC.

Finally, click the blue button: "SAVE". A view of the new subject is displayed, with a green notification message saying: "Complex subject was successfully created."

Add a new session to a subject

Navigate to your experiment, and then to the appropriate subject (in the tree view under "Subjects and files"). Click on the subject. The subject view is shown, including a blue button labelled "ADD NEW SESSION". Click this button.

Fill in the form (all fields). Click the "Files" tab to add folder or files from your PC. Click the black button: "ADD FOLDER" or ADD FILES" and select files from your PC.

Finally, click the blue button: "SAVE". A view of the new session is displayed, with a green notification message saying: "Complex session was successfully created."

Add a new modality to a session

Navigate to your experiment, and then to the appropriate subject (in the tree view under "Subjects and files"), and then to the appropriate session (in the tree view under "Sessions and files"). Click on the session. The session view is shown, including a blue button labelled "ADD NEW MODALITY". Click this button.

Fill in the form (all fields). Click the "Files" tab to add folder or files from your PC. Click the black button: "ADD FOLDER" or ADD FILES" and select files from your PC.

Finally, click the blue button: "SAVE". A view of the new modality is displayed, with a green notification message saying: "Complex modality was successfully created."

Submit your experiment for review for publication

From a view of one of your (unpublished) experiments, open the Review and Approval panel and choose "Deposit" from the available actions. Add a a note in the text, telling the Publication manager that you would like your work to be published. Click on the blue "SUBMIT" button.

A view of the new work is displayed, with a green notification message saying; "The dataset has been updated". The work now has a label saying "Pending review from group manager". You will also see that there is a new notification for you (this will be indicated by the "bell" icon in the blue header bar at the top of the screen. If you click on this icon you will see a notification telling you that your work has been submitted for review.

Submit your experiment for review for archiving

From a view of one of your (unpublished) experiments open the Review and Approval panel and choose "Deposit" from the available actions. Add a note in the text box, telling the Publication manager that you would like your work to be archived. Click on the blue "SUBMIT" button.

A view of the new work is displayed, with a green notification message saying; "The dataset has been updated". The work now has a label saying "Pending review from group manager". You will also see that there is a new notification for you (this will be indicated by the "bell" icon in the blue header bar at the top of the screen. If you click on this icon you will see a notification telling you that your work has been submitted for review.

Transferring the ownership of my experiment to someone else

The user who is initiating the transfer (i.e. the original owner of the work)

From your User Dashboard, click "Works (Datasets)" in the grey sidebar on the left, then find your experiment in the list (you may need to use the pagination buttons to access the screen containing your experiment).

Click the black "Select" button to the right of your experiment. From the drop-down list select the menu item "Transfer ownership of work (dataset)".

The "Transfer ownership" screen is displayed, with a search bar for the user to whom you wish to transfer ownership. Enter some characters of the username of the user, and the username should appear in the search bar. Optionally add a comment in the "Comments" area below, and then click the blue button labelled "TRANSFER".

The user who is receiving the transfer (i.e. the new owner of the experiment)

From your User Dashboard, navigate down the screen to the section called "Transfers of Ownership". In this section, you should see a sub-section called "Transfers Received", and here you should see the experiment that is being transferred to you. Click the blue button labelled "ACCEPT" and from the resulting drop-down menu, select the option "Get ownership and allow the depositor to retain edit access".
